Two close friends were recently married, and had a romantic reception in Delray Beach, Florida. At our friends’ suggestion, Adam and I set out to explore a little of Delray Beach the day after celebrations and came across the gorgeous Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. Before we spent most of the day strolling through some amazing landscape, rock gardens, tea house, and exhibits, Adam and I stopped by Cornell Café.
I unfortunately didn’t feel up to anything more than a classic miso soup, but Adam ordered a soy-glazed Salmon Teriyaki Salad served over a fresh garden salad with a homemade vinaigrette dressing. Adam said the salmon fillet was pink and tender, although he also mentioned that there could have been a little less glaze due to the sweetness of the vinaigrette dressing.
Cornell Café is more Asian-inspired fare than traditional Japanese, and the café is open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The view of the gardens during our meal was fabulous, and visiting the museum and gardens is an inspiring day trip Adam and I will have to do again soon for a full meal and traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
