This Pour House — there’s another location in Downtown Orlando — is done up in dark wood high-tops, booths, and regular tables. They have several large flat screen televisions with the latest in sports via Direct TV, and if that’s not enough, they also have a large digital projector streaming sports. Adam and I cozied up in a booth while softball was on the digital projector, but a hostess kindly changed it to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals when someone asked.
There is a selection of staple beers found at most bars. Our server was quick to let us know what last-minute replacements were on drafts. There was a version of Magic Hat that called Adam’s attention, and I went with Palm Belgian Pale Ale. Our server had our beers in a moment and quickly took our orders soon after. I got a kick out of hearing a little bell from the kitchen when every time our orders were ready!
Sweet and spicy House Specialty Wings made an appearance at our table first. The wings were a fabulous combination of crunchy, juicy, sweet, and spicy. Naked wings need not be soggy! The spice made my tastebuds combust into satisfying little mushroom clouds. The sweet flavor smoothed the spicy bite a bit – like a hot Thai sweet chili sauce – but I was still thankful for the celery and ranch dip.
The carnage that was our wing plate was cleared from the table – wings aren’t good if there isn’t carnage. The Grilled Reuben and Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich quickly followed. I noticed that my Reuben looked a little singed on both the top and bottom, but everything between the bread slices more than made up for it. Plus, it included a side of crunchy tots! The sliced meats in my sandwich were moist and tender, while the sauerkraut added the delicious twist that puts a Reuben high on the Scale of Tasty Sandwiches. Melty cheese held this monster sandwich together within an inch of its grilled bread slices! Adam also gave the Reuben a thumbs alongside his Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich.
The Philly was surprisingly not soggy, overloaded with globs of cheese, or swimming in grease, which are all separate experiences that have kept me away from enjoying other Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. Pour House’s Philly was packed with flavorful steak, nice cuts of green peppers and onions, judicious use of cheese, all packed in a thick hoagie. The Philly also included a nice side salad with assorted croutons. After a night of generous noms, Adam and I didn’t have the courage to order dessert, but next time we’ll make sweets a part of our Pour House Bar and Grill game plan.

Noelle, it was my pleasure! I’m glad to have a cozy place like MetroWest Pour House in the neighborhood. I’ve been back a few times now, but I have yet to try the desserts. Next time I’m in, I’ll make it a desserts and drinks night, and I’ll ask what you recommend dessert-wise. 🙂
